Dagupan partners with DOLE for employment opportunities
JOBSEEKERS in Dagupan City will soon expectedly have an easier time landing jobs for their skills.
This can be made possible after the Dagupan City government partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Region I for the implementation of the Skills Registry System (SRS) program that matches jobseekers matched with employment opportunities.
Under the agreement, jobseekers from Dagupan will be added in the skills registry system data base, which is linked to Phil-Jobnet system, the official government job portal for job matching.
Following the signing of a memorandum of undertaking last September 23, DOLE turned over one computer set and monetary assistance for the SRS implementation.
Mayor Belen Fernandez said she will personally lead the personnel from the Human Resources Department and City Employment Service Office for the consultations and registrations in barangays for the implementation of the program.
“Instead of the residents going to City Hall, we will bring City Hall to all the barangays and bring registration forms for them to register their skills for job matching,” Fernandez said. (CIO)
