PPH’s 68th anniversary brings gifts to in-patients

LINGAYEN — Some 127 in-patients of the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (PPH) in Bolingit, San Carlos City received gift items (donated by a private firm) from PPH health workers on September 24 as part of the hospital’s weeklong 68th year anniversary celebration from September 23-27.

Anniversary celebration chairperson Aurelio Carino, who heads the hospital’s Natal Intensive Care Unit, said the gift-giving was scheduled along with free-of-charge ECG, blood chemistry and consultation to hospital clients. Free vaccination was also given to geriatric patients.

“The gift items of medicines, courtesy of a private drug firm, were given to 77 in-patients at the pediatric ward and 50 more patients at the Infectious ward,” he said.

Suffering physical and emotional trials, the in-patients with their relatives accompanying them, expressed joy over the through gift-giving by provincial government led by Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. for the

Residents of barangays Dupo, Salapingao and Caloocan Sur of Binmaley were also given free consultations, medicines, ECG and blood typing September 25, in a medical mission by the PPH medical workers led by OIC Chief of Hospital Policarpio Manuel.

Preventive and promotive health programs that include environmental sanitation, prevention of infectious diseases (diarrhea, dengue, pneumonia, etc.), healthy lifestyle, safe water and sanitary toilets, maternal and child health care lecture, oral hygiene (toothbrush drill and handwashing) were discussed.

Earlier, 24 more doctors were hired by the provincial government for the 14 hospitals in response to the growing demand of hospital clients and to upgrade the service capacity of the hospitals in the delivery of quality health care services.

The search for Miss PPH tonight concluded the weeklong anniversary celebration.
