NFA-Pangasinan intensifies rice distribution program
THE National Food Authority (NFA)–Western Pangasinan branch has intensified its rice distribution program during the current lean season to provide the public with quality but low-priced staple.
In a press statement, NFA Provincial Manager Rolando Rufo said the government rice being distributed to accredited NFA outlets and sold to the public are newly milled rice with a price of P27.00 per kilogram and P28.00 per kg. for regular milled rice and well milled rice, respectively.
Four to seven NFA outlets are accredited in every public market in addition to the community-based outlets located in the most populated areas where lowp-income residents reside.
The provincial monitoring team is closely monitoring the price and supply of both NFA and commercial rice, he added.
According to Rufo, the team validates the stocks being sold, issued, and withdrawn from NFA warehouses to particular market outlets and checks the quality of NFA rice.
NFA assured the public that the availability and accessibility of good quality rice in the province is sufficient even when calamity occurs. (PIA1-Pangasinan/VHS)
