Baby Arenas takes oath in simple rite
MALASIQUI—Third District Representative-elect Rosemarie “Baby” Arenas, known as a stylish socialite as much as a fervent philanthropist, took her oath of office in a simple rite last June 12.
Arenas was sworn into office by Judge Edgardo Caldona of the Regional Trial Court Branch 65 in Makati City, also a Malasiquinian, at the Sangguniang Bayan office with just her children and some close family friends present.
Arenas, who will be taking the reins from her daughter, outgoing Rep. Ma. Rachel Arenas, ran unopposed in the May 13 elections.
Arenas said the Independence Day celebration is very meaningful to her because six years ago, it was also the day when her daughter took her oath of office for her first term.
The Arenases, who used to be Makati-based, established their residency here in Barangay Nancapian where they also hold their district office.–Eva Visperas
