PANGASINAN’S two heralded wood-pushers, Haridas Pascua of Mangatarem and Rosales daughter Samantha Glo Revita, bagged three gold medals in the just concluded 14^th Asean + Age Group Chess Championships held June 6-14 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

The FIDE Master Pascua, 19, teaming up with International Master Jan Emmanuel Garcia and National Master Alcon John Datu dominated the Open under-20 category tallying 5.5 points apiece in the rapid team event to snare a gold medal each.

Pascua also won the gold in the blitz team event together with Garcia scoring 7.5 points each and Datu with 5.5 points in nine encounters en route to capture the title.

In the distaff side 14-under division, Revita, 14, collected a total of 7.0 points to capture the gold with fellow 7.0 marker Vietnamese Nguyen Thi Minh Thu.–JAGJr.
