DCANC goes BLACK & WHITE with a dash of RED
DRESS to impress. Come in Black and White and add a dash of Red. So the online invite read.
It is the Dagupan City Association of Northern California’s Annual Spring Ball billed as Baile and this year’s event recalls the halcyon days of glamor and elegance of the Dagupan Fiesta at the Plaza of yore.
So on April 6th, the Bay Area Dagupenos trooped dressed to the ninth at the grand ballroom of the Crowne Plaza in Burlingame, California to bond, reminisce, celebrate, and commemorate the old glory of Dagupan. (Contributed by Rex Catubig)
On hand to welcome the guests were: Mel & Bea Daroy, Epee Rafanan, Dely Dumpit, Arsie Valdez, Bee Joves, Ruby Daroy, Veon Rafanan, Vic & Carmen Estallila.
Just like the “boxes” of old, the tables at the ballroom were numbered and tagged with the names of Barangays. This is table 10, Herrero-Perez: In the group are: Doring Advincula. Macy Rafanan-Marania, Ana Lisa Rafanan, Remy Rafanan. In the back row: Eric Advincula, Priscy Advincula, Virgilio Rafanan, Epee Rafanan and Sandy Joyce Ragasa.
Mayor Ray Buenaventura of Daly City was the Guest Speaker of the event. He presented a Certificate of Recognition to the group, which was received by DCANC President Marlene Mendoza Garibay.
The evening highlight was the awarding of the DAYEW NA DAGUPAN recipients: Virgilio Rafanan, Maxray Garibay and Alfredo Joves. With them are Pres. Marlene Mendoza Garibay; Committee Chairman Jose Rosario and DCANC Board President Penny Cagampan.
Rene De Los Santos, Department of Tourism Director in San Francisco and a valued member of DCANC, was presented a Certificate of Recognition by Mayor Ray Buenaventura of Daly City for his exemplary performance in promoting Philippine tourism in the United States and Canada.
The boys of City High got reunited that night: Henry Pablo, Chito Concepcion, Mert Manela, Ralph Navarrette.
After the dancing and celebration, the members posed for a group picture as memento for the successful event.
