JOINING the global observance of Earth Hour last March 23, SM City Rosales lit up candles around a giant eco-bag as it turned off all lights in the mall at exactly 8:30 p.m., simultaneous with the rest of the world.

“Earth Hour sends a message of both hope and action,” said SM City Rosales Mall Manager Catherine Garcia.

The SM chain of malls has been a consistent participant in the Earth Hour event, an annual environmental campaign spearheaded by the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise awareness and action to help mitigate climate change.

SM encourages its consumers to use recycle shopping bags, or eco-bags, to help decrease plastic bag production.
