THE National Food Authority-Western Pangasinan Branch (NFA-WPGS) is now procuring palay from the second crop harvest season or summer crop of farmers.

NFA Provincial Manager Rolando S. Rufo announced that five buying stations in WPGS are now ready to accept palay deliveries from the accredited Individual Farmers and Farmers’ Cooperatives/Associations/Organizations (Coops/FAs/FOs).

The NFA-WPGS is also now accepting application and revalidation of Individual Farmers’ Passbooks as well as the Coops/FAs/FOs Master’s Passbooks.

Rufo said the procurement is part of the NFA’s aggressive and intensified palay buying activities to create much needed buffer stock as well as to provide a ready market for farmers with a higher offer price per kilo compared with commercial buyers.
