Hectic schedule for Ate Belen
A BUSY Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez had a very hectic schedule last February towards the first week of March responding to various invitations.
She said she can not simply ignore the invitations, especially when she is named special guest in various social occasions in public elementary schools.
Fernandez admitted she was very elated to crown those chosen to become Mister and Miss Elementary School and Little Prince and Princess.
Among the schools she visited are the Federico Integrated School, Mamalingling Elementary School, Longos Elementary School, Tebeng Elementary School, Bliss Elementary School, and Mayombo Elementary School.

It is no longer surprising that Fernandez is often invited as guest of public schools in Dagupan as she has long been helping these schools in many undertakings.
Even before she assumed public office as councilor and as vice mayor for two terms, she already funded day care centers and conducted many feeding programs for malnourished children.
The day care centers were a boon to working mothers as there was a place where they can leave their children for a few hours while attending to the other demanding part of their lives.
The feeding programs largely contributed to improved nutrition and health of most pre-school and primary school pupils in Dagupan in the past.
At the same time, Fernandez is the top patron of the Department of Education’s Gulayan sa Paaralan that helped teach children how to plant vegetables from where they get their nutritious food without buying these anymore from the market.
Fernandez also convinced Procter and Gamble to donate 150 wi-fi ready laptops for use of pupils of Lucao Elementary School so that they can be updated on modern technology and information through the internet.
Fernandez is also the woman behind the six-month long supplementary feeding program for 300 identified pupils from 10 public elementary schools in Dagupan City.
This was launched at Pogo Lasip Elementary School where the beneficiaries were being given a nutritional meal daily during school days and a glass of milk.
Fernandez is likewise holding a yearly Children’s Congress seeking to broaden the knowledge of children of Dagupan and at the same time provide them with entertainment while learning more about science and technology.
