MGSSHS’s WINNING STREAKS
Mother Goose Special Schools System, Inc. – Science High School’s winning streak hit fever high when three of its students – Rafael R. Fontanilla, Rica Camille B. Lomibao and Ma. Patricia J. Sotong landed in the Top 9 during the National Research Fair 2013, sponsored by the U.P. Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students (UP ALCHEMES), which was held February 7-9, 2013 at UP Diliman, Quezon City. The research paper entitled “ Innovated Foot Pedal Operated Washing Machine “ won out of 147 entries from all over the country’s science high schools. The said students were accompanied by their multi-awarded science instructor, Mrs. Socorro O. Ringor.
In the field of journalism, another group came home triumphantly after winning top spots during the recently concluded Regional Schools Press Conference held in Urdaneta City: The list of winners is as follows: Jerome Jason J. Manaois, Zarah Yvonne G. Agbuya, Gila Mae P. Vinluan, Clarisse Mae D. Zaplan, Kristoffer Matthew F. Decena, Hannah Faye A. Sagurit and Lenard John De Vera – Champion, Radio Broadcasting; Kristine A. Del Moral – 3rd Place, Newswriting; and Clarisse Mae D. Zaplan – Best Presenter. Other awards won were “ Best in Radio Production “ and “ Best Infomercial“, aside from the school papers’ The Catalyst (Editorial Writing) and the Bagong Sibol (Agham at Teknolohiya) being selected as national qualifiers in the upcoming National Schools Press Conference this April in Ormoc City. They will be accompanied by their coaches, Mr. Al Villanueva, Mr. John Jaspher De Guzman and Ms. Rachel Gomez.
