LINGAYEN–The operations manager of a mining firm based in Barangay Barlo, Mabini is now being hunted by the police after he shot and killed a fellow employee at 10:20 a.m. of February 20.

Apolonio Magano, alias “Pol”, operations manager of Golden Peak Mining Corporation, fled after shooting Victoriano Dauz, 44, a resident of Barangay Tagudin, Mabini with the use of a hand gun.

Initial police investigation indicates that the suspect and the victim had a heated argument at the mining site while they were both on their break time.

The security guards on duty said the victim grabbed a piece of wood and attempted to attack the suspect.

Magano then drew his short firearm, which he was carrying in his waist, and shot the victim, hitting him once in the right breast.

The victim was rushed to the Alaminos City Doctors Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
