DESPITE REPORTED SALE

THE resolution of the petitions and complaints filed over the sale of the MC Adore hotel property is far from over.

Judge Emma Torio of Branch 40 on Friday gave the lawyer of Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) Secretary Ryan Ravanzo Ravanzo 10 days within which to submit his reply to the counter affidavit filed by Dagupan Mayor Benjamin Lim and members of the Disposal Committee to the petition declaring the latter in contempt over the sale of the MC Adore property.

Atty. Borromeo Bustamante, Ravanzo’s legal representative, said he will submit the matter for resolution by the court in his next reply.

The special civil case filed by Ravanzo against Lim and nine members of the Disposal Committee which Lim heads, stems from bidding for the property that was concluded even before the court could resolve the original petition stopping the sale of the hotel owing to alleged irregularities that preceded the creation of the disposal committee.

During the hearing last week, the judge also withdrew the required P50 million injunctive bond she early asked Ravanzo to post since the sale of MC Adore of P119 million was already consummated last January 7 with the winning bidder AMB ALC Holdings of Makati City supposedly paying the full amount last January 28.

Only Bustamante was present during the hearing.

Ravanzo, the respondents, and their lawyer Assistant City Legal Officer Roy Laforteza did not attend.
