Junior NBA program returns in March
AFTER a two-day stint in Dagupan last January 26 and 27, the Junior National Basketball Association (NBA) program will return to the city in March for a bigger regional basketball camp.
The camp will again be set at the CSI Stadia in Barangay Lucao, to be participated in by 10-14 year old children from Regions I, II, III and the Cordilleras.
Sefu Bernard, Asia director of the Junior NBA program and camp director of the just concluded school basketball clinic and seminar for coaches in Dagupan, along with Alaska team coach Jojo Lastimosa will again preside in the regional camp that will select 10 members for a regional junior NBA team.
The 10 will join a national tryout in Manila in April for the selection of the final 10-man Junior NBA Philippines team.
Regional try-outs are also set in Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao.
Members of the Junior NBA Philippines will be brought to the NBA games live and will be given a chance to play with an NBA junior team from another country.
Vice Mayor Fernandez, also the regional director of the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP), will again host the program that introduces NBA-style of playing and coaching to local basketball players and coaches.
