Alaminos bikefest set Jan. 22

ALAMINOS CITY–This city will host the first provincial bicycle road race of the year on January 22, starting at 9 a.m., with around 60 amateur and ex-professional contestants expected to participate.

The short but hilly 50-kilometer route will start and finish across the city hall, traversing parts of of Bani, Agno (Banganoda junction) and Mabini via Dakok junction.

Alex Billan of the sponsoring Excellent Noodles said the event is a preface race prior to the arrival of the 96 contestants for the eighth lap terminal of the 2013 Ronda Pilipinas bikathon that will start in Olongapo City and finish in this city via the Zambales highway.

Cash rewards, trophies and medals are at stake with Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza and first district board member Teofilo Humilde, Jr. to award the prizes for the top ten winners.– JAGJr.
