Pichay supports tourism

Congressman Prospero “Butch” Pichay made a strong pitch for Pangasinan tourism as an integral plank of a national tourism program which he envisions for the country if elected senator on May l4.

The main architect of Surigao’s modernization told Pangasinan journalists that he was impressed by the beauty and worldwide tourism appeal of the Hundred Islands even as he assured Mayor Nani Braganza of his full support to his commendable efforts in modernizing Alaminos City.

Meanwhile, Pichay will be at the center stage of the May l Tour of Pangasinan which stars national cycling greats including former Tour champions.

The cycling event is a part of a proposed 4-province cycling races in Northern Luzon including a Baguio-Dagupan, Vigan-Laoag, and Abra-Baguio cycling events.

The races are all to be sponsored by Pichay.

Pichay is the incumbent president of the National Chess Federation. As of press time, the congressman-turned-senatoriable is the godfather of the worldwide chess tournament held in Subic.

Pichay has lately won the support of Baguio and Northern Luzon vegetable growers for his advocacy of reduced if not total ban of vegetable importation.
