Lingayen honors its educators
LINGAYEN—As this capital town celebrated its annual fiesta last week, educators from both the private and public schools once again gathered for the Educators’ Night last January 3 where outstanding administrators, officials, teachers, and school personnel were given recognition.
The awardees included: Outstanding Officials — Romeo Escano, Cecilia Olegario, Marisol Mamaradlo, and Juancho Lopez;
Outstanding Administrators — Henry Calicdan, Cynthia Sanico, Nancy Decena, Emma Cerezo, Jose Rivera, Rafael Irwin Nicolas, Elvie Reyes, Corazon de Ocampo, Jocelyn Untalan, Armando Lopez, Rizza Paragas, Zenaida Peralta, Delphin Jose Aquino, Manuela Pedralvez, Danglee Nagma, and Marc Michael dela Cruz;
Outstanding Teachers — Rochelle Ramos, Jerry Salvador, Karren Torio, Lilybeth Mejia, Marita Flora, Vivian Milo, Rosie de Venecia, Erlinda Jose, Juanito Coquia, Elberto Molano, Perfecto Lamsen, Gerardo Guarin, Melanie Rosales, Renato Santos, Remedios Paguntalan, Maria Divina Ferrer, Elvira de Leon, Jocelyn Bergonia, Beatriz Salazar, Darius Caezar Rivera, Jonathan Peralta, Josefina Domantay, Corlito Cruz, Gerardo Amansec, Mirasol Aquino, Isabel Estigoy, Rebecca Gancena, Marymar Rosario, Michelle Vinluan, and Angelo Mislang;
Outstanding Personnel — Rommel Gumapos, Dante Ulanday, Maximo Fernandez, Alma Calimlim, Renato Castro, Noel Rico, and Helen Mabanta.
Dr. Nita Caolboy, the overall chairman of the event, told the educators that the celebration with its theme “Educators: Facilitators of Integrity, Fairness, and Excellence in Achieving Quality Education” is “a night to enjoy…after a year of performing our duties…”
Teaching and non-teaching personnel showed off their prowess in dancing as they swayed to the beat of popular Hawaiian songs such as Pearly Shells, Tiny Bubbles, and Hukilao.
The event’s guest of honor and speaker was Dr. Sheila Marie Primicias, Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, who inspired her fellow educators to do more as she shared her own personal and professional experiences.
The Educators’ Night is one of the “nights” dedicated to recognize all sectors of the municipality.
Other celebrations are Toda Night, Barangay Night, Miss Lingayen Pageant Night, SK Night, Senior Citizens Night, Coronation Nit/Employees Night, Balikbayan/NGO/PTA Night, and SMB Night among others.–Johanne R. Macob
