Espino admits no “pure joy” for him this Christmas
LINGAYEN—On Christmas eve, during the special Christmas mass at the Capitol Plaza, Governor Amado Espino Jr. admitted that he “cannot experience pure joy in his heart” this season due to the political crisis that he is facing.
Espino has been publicly accused and is facing a case before the Office of the Ombudsman filed by Bugallon Mayor Rodrigo Orduña, a former ally, for allegedly receiving as much as P900 million in payola from the illegal numbers game jueteng.
“We are supposed to celebrate Christmas with utmost happiness but for the past 10 days so many things happened which is caused by dirty politics. Despite all these, my family and I are thankful of the continued support that Pangasinenses are giving us,” Espino said in his message.
The governor at the same gave assurance that his administration remains stable and focused on its programs.
“The entire provincial government is not shaken by the turn of events,” he said.
“Ituloy mi so gagawaen min progreso na Pangasinan parad anak tayo tan anak daray anak tayo,” he added.
The traditional Christmas Eve Mass, officiated by Rev. Fr. Francis Posadas of the Epiphany of Our Lord Parish here, was attended by an estimated crowd of more than 3,000. (with report from PIO)
