LINGAYEN—Provincial employees of Pangasinan had to forego the celebration of their traditional Christmas party, but they still had all the reasons to be happy deep in their hearts as the allocated funds for their party was used for a more worthy cause.
Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. ordered the release of a P1-million fund from the provincial government as approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, headed by Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Z. Calimlim, Jr., through Provincial Resolution No. 493-2012 “authorizing the grant of financial assistance to help the calamity victims of typhoon “Pablo” in the provinces of Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley in Mindanao Area.
Provincial Assessor Nestor Quiambao personally delivered the cash donation last December 17 to the two provinces worst hit by the typhoon receiving P500, 000 each from the public affairs fund of the provincial government of Pangasinan.
Gov. Arturo T. Uy of Compostela Valley and Gov. Corazon Malanyaon of Davao Oriental the donations.
“In the spirit of Christmas and gift-giving the donation is very timely as it will provide immediate assistance to the millions of people affected by the typhoon,” the provincial government said. (PIO/Angeline D. Villanueva)
