Rang-ay celebrates 50th annniversary

Rang-ay Bank, the biggest rural bank in the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, recently kicked-off the year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary.  

Dubbed as Gintong Pasasalamat, the ceremonies were held at the Ilocandia Hall of the Oasis Country Resort in San Fernando City last January 14 with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. as guest of honor and speaker. 

Tetangco, in his speech, noted the phenomenal growth of Rang-ay Bank and its commitment to countryside banking. He also reiterated BSP’s thrust in strengthening countryside financial institutions which play an important role in the development of local economies. 

In welcoming the guests, Rang-ay Bank President and CEO Ives Q. Nisce announced the scheduled opening of four more branches in 2006. 

During the program, Land Bank President Gilda E. Pico led the ceremonial Toast at the launching of the Rang-ay Bank automated teller machine (ATM) service and the bank’s newly-constructed website www.rangaybank.com.

Another highlight of the celebrations was the launch of the bank’s anniversary audio-visual presentation and the singing of its corporate jingle, preceded by the singing of a Doxology in Ilocano by the Rang-ay Bank Chorale.

Among the guests of honor were La Union 1st District Congressman Manuel C. Ortega, Vice-Gov. Aureo Q. Nisce, Vice-Mayor Nardi Valero and luminaries in the banking industry.
