TWENTY-one year old Mara Janielle Ramos representing Barangay Lasip Grande was crowned Ms. Dagupan 2012 during the pageant and coronation night last December 17 at the City Plaza.

Ramos bested 15 contestants as she impressed the judges and the audience not just with her beauty and grace but with her intelligence during the question-and-answer portion where she quickly pointed to waste management problem, poverty and the apathy of some Dagupeños to nation-building when asked what are the three challenges that the city faces.

Ramos is a a nursing graduate of Trinity University of Asia-St. Luke’s College of Nursing in Manila and practices her profession at the Region 1 Medical Center based in Dagupan.

Other winners of the evening were Bonuan Boquig’s Ann Mabel Ubando as first runner up and also chosen as miss photogenic, best in swimsuit and best in evening gown awards; Herrero-Perez’s Edelyn Aurelio, second runner up; Caranglaan’s Sarah Leanza Cabrillo, finalist; and Malued’s Cynthia Caldona, as the darling of the press and most articulate.
