SK Provincial Federation President John Christopher Arcinue said the twin-event aimed not just to recognize outstanding youth public in service but also to inspire them through former SK officers.

He added that next year, SK projects will focus more on pro-environment campaigns and creating their own disaster response groups.
MESSAGES
The event’s special guest, ABONO Partylist Chairman Conrad Estrella III, who was also an SK (then Kabataang Barangay) provincial president, rallied the present SK officials to do more and not be afraid of mistakes.
“This is (SK) a training ground, go ahead. If you believe in something, do it even if you commit mistakes. This is the time to commit mistakes because you will learn from the mistakes that you will commit,” Estrella said.
Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr., who represented Governor Amado Espino Jr. as the event’s guest of honor and speaker, reminded the kabataan that the provincial government is doing everything ensure the best for the next generation.
“Lahat ito para sa inyo, we want nothing but the best for your future,” said Calimlim.
Third District Rep. Rachel Arenas also graced the event and told the youth leaders that in the same way that the SK looks up to the elder servants, they also serve as inspiration in return.
Past SK provincial presidents were also given the Distinguished Award: Von Mark Mendoza (first batch), Marie Antonnette Villar (second batch), Jolly Resuello (third batch), and Kazel Celeste (fourth batch).–Johanne R. Macob
