VMUF grad tops midwifery licensure exam
A GRADUATE of the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation (VMUF) in San Carlos City, May Abigail Mondala Miranda, topped the 2012 Midwife Licensure Examination conducted by the Board of Midwifery last November 17 and 18.
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results showing Miranda with an average rating of 88.55 percent.
“I took the licensure exam simply aiming to pass it without this glorious expectation,” the 22-year-old Miranda from Mangatarem town said.
“I dedicate this ‘gift’ to my dear parents who will be celebrating their silver wedding anniversary this Christmas Day this year,” she said.
Her father Adorable is a construction worker while her mother Soledad is a housekeeper.
They have eight children and May Abigail is the second eldest.
Miranda said she dreams of setting up a birthing clinic in her hometown to serve the people, particularly the poor and the needy.
Miranda initially took up a nursing course but had to stop due to financial considerations.
The VMUF hosted a Mass and a testimonial at the VMUF Alumni Center last December 5 to honor Miranda and the new batch of midwives who graduated from the school.
The VMUF obtained 100-percent passing mark with all its graduates who took the licensure exam passing the board.
