NORTHERN Luzon’s retail giant CSI Group of Companies is set to make Dagupan City and Pangasinan proud anew with the opening of its newest landmark beside the sprawling CSI the City Mall in barangay Lucao.

Belen Fernandez, president of the CSI Group, has announced that the CSI Coliseum and Exhibition Hall, the biggest of its kind in northern Luzon, will be in operation beginning the second week of April.

With a floor area of one hectare and a 6,000 seating capacity, the new complex, is being positioned to make Dagupan the convention and sporting hub north of Manila.

Aside from conventions and sporting events, it is also designed to cater to concerts, exhibits and functions such as weddings, birthdays and graduation exercises.

The coliseum has one basketball court of Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) standard, eight badminton courts and rooms for exercises and calisthenics.

Fernandez said she welcomes the idea of making it the permanent venue for out-of-town games of PBA teams.

But foremost in her mind is to make the facility available to her fellow businessmen who may want to exhibit and promote their products.

Fernandez, a former councilor of Dagupan, said she is also looking at forging a partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry for the promotion of the government’s “One-Town One-Product” program by making the CSI Coliseum a showroom for their products.— LM
