Colegio de Dagupan is region’s IT development center
COLEGIO de Dagupan (CdD) has been chosen by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as the new Center of Development (COD) in information Technology in Region 1 for the period of March 1, 2007 to December 31, 2010.
In CHED Chairman Dr. Carlito Puno’s March 1 letter to CdC President Dr. Voltaire Arzadon, the institution has been chosen as a COD for information technology based on the criteria set by the Technical Panel for Information Technology Education (TPITE), duly approved by the Commission.
Dr. Puno, after extending his congratulations, said “CHED also recognizes CdC’s commitment to the continuous improvement of the field and its capability to serve as role model in information technology education.” Further, he wrote that “it is with this resolve that the Commission deems your Department/College as worthy of taking a leadership role in assisting other institutions to develop their own IT programs.”
As a COD for IT in Region 1, other institution can consult with the College of Information Technology and Computing Sciences through its Dean Reynald Jay Hidalgo and the IT faculty members regarding the various programs in IT that they can offer their schools and students.
Colegio de Dagupan offers its IT services as well through seminars, trainings and other lecture series for institutions that wish to have their IT programs further developed and enhanced.
