PPHS-PNHS Alumni Association-USA celebrates 5th anniversary

LOS ANGELES, California–A medical mission in Lingayen and ground breaking ceremony of the proposed Alumni-Teachers Center are two of the main events lined up during the 5th year anniversary celebration of the Pangasinan Provincial-National High School Alumni Association based in USA.

Spearheaded by Mario Panoringan founder and executive chairman of the association, attendees will not only come from the US mainland but also from other countries like Canada, Australia, Germany and others.

The week-long celebration starts on November 28 with the alumni touring Batasan Pambansa premises, courtesy of Congressman Leopoldo Bataoil of the second congressional district. A member of Class ’70, he will entertain the balikbayan-alumni with a luncheon on the same day.

On the second day, there will be a tour of the renovated Provincial Capitol Complex and the President Fidel V Ramos Heritage Museum after which a welcome reception hosted by Panoringan couple follows.

A two-day tour of Our Lady of Manaoag Shrine and special guided tour of the Philippine Military Academy and a trip to Patar Beach in Bolinao a.k.a. Boracay of Luzon will take place on November 30 and December 1, respectively.

On the fifth day, the medical mission in Lingayen takes place with Dr Eugene Baltazar of Class ’68 as coordinator. It will be followed by a courtesy call on Gov Amado Espino Jr.  In the evening, a dinner will be hosted by Lingayen Mayor Ernesto Castaneda of Class ’62 for his co-alumni at Hotel Consuelo.

In the morning of December 3, groundbreaking ceremony of the ATC will take place at the PNHS grounds. In the evening, Espino, a graduate of the Bayhambang National High School and buddy of Panoringan at the Luzon Colleges, now University of Luzon, will host a grand dinner and ball at the new Sison Auditorium.

On the last day, there will be a Thanksgiving mass at the Capitol Resort Hotel after which a farewell brunch follows at the hotel’s poolside.

Panoringan also announced that the next biennial PPHS-PNHS-USA Alumni Reunion will be held in Orlando, Florida, home to the Disney World, in September next year. He said that different committees are now in place to run the affair. – ljg
