Mangaldan volleyball tournament set Feb. 10-Mar. 3
MANGALDAN’s first official volleyball tournament of the year starts on February 10 and will end on March 3 in line with the celebration of the town fiesta.
According to Johnny Magno, chairman of the event, the tourney, dubbed as the “First Mangaldan Lawn Volleyball Championship”, will be sponsored by the local government led by Mayor Herminio A.Romero and the Sanguniang Bayan members.
Magno said that the event, to be played on weekends and exclusively for the townspeople of Mangaldan, will be held at the town plaza’s grassy field.
There will be separate categories for male and female, with no age limit and with no entry fee.
A total of P44,000 in cash prizes and trophies will be up for grabs.
The winners in each category will bring home P10,000 for the team champion with trophy while the first and second runners-up will pocket P7,000 and P5,000 and also with trophy each, respectively.
Four teams in each category will qualify for the semis after the elimination round. Two teams will be left for the finals through a ‘knockout’ system.
Deadline of registration will be Monday, February 5.
