Fisherfolk complete BFAR’s ‘School-on-Air’

NINETY-five fisherfolk and college students have completed the special program on the culture of Siganid (Malaga) under the ‘School on the Air’ program of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)

The graduates, who had their closing program last November 23 at the Hotel Consuelo in Lingayen town, include 46 fisherfolks from around the province and 49 students from the Pangasinan State University (PSU)-Binmaley campus.

The school-on-air program, intended to update the knowledge and skills of farmers and listeners who want to venture on Siganid culture, is a joint undertaking of BFAR, PSU, DZWM, Santeh Feeds Corporation (sponsor) and the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of the Department of Science and Technology.
