P400K reward up for pawnshop robbers

A P400,000 reward money awaits anyone who can help the police identify and locate the suspects behind the P10-million BHF Gemline Pawnshop robbery in Dagupan last November 10.

Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., city police chief here, said the reward is jointly put up by the owner of the shop and Mayor Benjamin Lim.

Caramat admitted that the police have yet to establish the identity of the suspects from the footage of the closed circuit television camera that recorded the heist that lasted for only a minute and 33 seconds.

Moving swiftly, seven of the suspects barged inside the shop, disarmed the guard on duty, held the employees at gunpoint, hammered the glass display cases then carted away the jewelry.

Four others companions served as lookout and they immediately fled on board four motorcycles.

Caramat said the group could be a remnant of the Martilyo Gang that once staged a bloody Metro Manila mall.—Eva Visperas
