New Dagupan election officer reports for work
MILD RESHUFFLE
A NEW city election officer has been assigned in Dagupan following what the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) calls a “mild reshuffle”.
Provincial Elections Supervisor Marino Salas said Atty. Ericson Oganiza, municipal election officer of Lingayen, replaces Election Officer Remarque Ravanzo who in turn has been moved to Lingayen.
Salas insisted it was just an “ordinary reshuffle” since both Oganiza and Ravanzo were already overstaying in their respective assignments after four years.
The reassignment of the two is still temporary pending confirmation from Comelec Chairman Sixto Brilliantes.
Ravanzo is facing a complaint filed by the Liberal Party in Dagupan over alleged mishandling of the registration of voters which concluded October 31.
Salas stressed that the reassignment of Ravanzo is not in any way connected to the complaint.
Salas said the complaint of the local LP is now in the hands of Comelec Regional Director Noli Pipo.
Ravanzo earlier said he already submitted his reply to the complaint to the office of Director Pipo.
LP questioned the surge of voters registering in the last few days of registration, many of whom were reportedly hauled to the Comelec by barangay officials known to be supporters of the incumbent Mayor Benjamin Lim who is running for re-election.
The local Election Registration Board (ERB) will meet on November 19 to conduct inclusion and exclusion proceedings to finalize the list of voters.
