Capitol launches “I love Pangasinan” campaign

LINGAYEN—The province’s tourism campaign slogan “I Love Pangasinan” will be launched on September 12 during the formal opening of the Tourism Month that already started September 6.

Governor Amado Espino Jr. and Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand will lead the launching set at the Sison Auditorium after the traditional flag-raising ceremony where the Pangasinan Hymn will also be launched.

The Pangasinan Hymn, based on the original composition of Raul Tamayo, will be declared official through Provincial Ordinance No. 154 to be signed that day by Espino.

Provincial Administrator Rafael Baraan said under the “I love Pangasinan” campaign, a scorecard has been adopted to measure efforts of all local government units (LGUs) in environmental sanitation, public health, economic and social infrastructures, among others.

A school tours campaign promoting the slogan “I love Pangasinan” under the program “Baruy Pangasinan” will he conducted September 12 to 23.

Tourism Month kicked off last Tuesday with the launching of the Pangasinan and Tourism websites during a press briefing by the steering committee in charge of the celebration that bared the activities lined up for the tourism month.

Espino said the month-long celebration is aimed at instilling love for the province and its cultural heritage among Pangasinenses.

Provincial Tourism Officer Malou Elduayan said the activities will be held in different venues, across eastern, central and western Pangasinan to ensure maximum participation by all Pangasinenses, especially officials and employees of LGUs, barangays officials, students and teachers.

ACTIVITIES

The municipality of Balungao in the eastern part joined the month-long celebration by launching the Balungao Hilltop Adventure at the Balungao Hot and Cold Springs.
