Lim dares VM: Set good price for Mc Adore

MAYOR Benjamin Lim has dared Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez to determine a good selling price for the MC Adore property which has recently been offered for purchase by two companies.

Personally, gusto ko na ibenta na rin yan para patunayan kay Vice-Mayor Belen Fernandez na hindi yan white elephant na gaya ng sinasabi niya,” said Lim in a statement.

Ngayon ang sinasabi naman niya, it’s a prime property kaya kinakailangan na maganda ang presyo. Now, kung maganda ang presyo, then she has to determine kung magkano ang magandang presyo. Kung interesado siya, bilhin niya at ako ay hindi interesado,” Lim added.

Arbros Realty was the first company to offer to buy the property for P68 million, a price that Fernandez said was too low. Arbros has since withdrawn its offer lamenting the political rift in the city government.

A second firm, Managen, is now offering to buy it at P75 million through a letter of intent addressed to the mayor, who in turn has forwarded it to the city council chaired by Fernandez.

The council has yet to act on the second offer.

Lim further told Fernandez that if she wants the city administration to pursue the original plan for which the property was bought, which is to convert it into a new city hall and offices for national government agencies based in Dagupan, then the council should provide the fund for it.

“If she decides na gamitin na lang nating city hall, puede rin. Bigyan niya kami ng budget at ipapaayos ko,” Lim said.

The Mc Adore property was bought by city hall under Lim’s previous term as mayor but the supposed plan to renovate the dilapidated building was never pursued during this two terms.
