LINGAYEN–Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. and Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, Jr. led the ceremonial login on to the province’s two official websites, pangasinan.gov.ph and pangasinantourism.gov.ph, during the press briefing on the celebration of Tourism Month held at the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) conference hall here.

With the ceremonial launching, the governor expressed his appreciation to modern technology that led to the creation of vital linkages such as websites that are an effective tool of communication and an important source of information that transcends to the community by simply tapping one’s computer.

The official website of Pangasinan was reconstructed by the Provincial Information Office (PIO) with technical support from Pixelhub Creative. It contains relevant information and vivid pictures about the province and its people, and Pangasinan’s rich cultural heritage, tourist destinations and the dawning of the golden era.

Public Information Officer Orpheus Velasco said the official website of the province will enable people to view what the provincial government is doing with its “showroom of accomplishments”.

The website is updated with latest news and events of the provincial government, the history of the province, geography, facts and figures, basic information on the province’s cities and municipalities, fiscal management, resolutions and ordinances crafted by the provincial board.

Other important features of the website include a list of officials and directory, photo gallery, feature articles depicting the tourism development program of Pangasinan and travel sketches, as well.

A section for visitors’ feedback is available, that serves as direct communication link to the provincial government.

The pangasinantourism.gov.ph serves as the closest link of the people to the various tourism activities and destinations in the province.

Tourism Division Chief Ma. Luisa Elduayan said the official websites will provide basic facts and information on destinations needed by tourists

“Through this, we will be able to show the world how lovable Pangasinan is,” Eludayan said.

As of press time, the website has had over 17,000 visitors since its creation in June. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
