140 violators caught in LTO operation
TAYUG—At least 140 traffic violators were arrested along the highway here in just one day of operation last Thursday conducted by a 12-man team from the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The team, headed by Ricardo Ribleza, conducted random inspection on all vehicles that passed along the national highway from Rosales to Tayug, a busy road leading to the provinces of Nueva Ecija and Nueva Vizcaya.
The violations committed by motorists include driving without a license, expired driver’s license, noisy mufflers, non-use of seat belts for four-wheel vehicles and head gears for motorcycles, expired plates numbers or no plate numbers, among others.
The licenses of the violators were confiscated and were issued with corresponding traffic violation slips with a fine from P1,200 to P1,500 each.
The LTO team was assisted by the Tayug Police and the Public Safety Mobile Company, which is in charge of enforcing transportation regulations in Tayug.
Chief Inspector Fidel Junio, chief of the Tayug police, hailed the strict enforcement of transportation regulations since the Rosales-Tayug road is a vital thoroughfare.
