FIFTH District Rep. Kimi Cojuangco expressed elation over the filing of a complaint for double homicide by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) against four policemen and two barangay officials in connection with the death of a father and son in Barangay Lebueg, Laoac last June 19.

“I am happy about that,” said Cojuangco but quickly added that she will continue to follow up the case until justice is served to the bereaved family of the victims, Rodrigo Eleazar, 62, and his son, Gener, 36.

The CIDG filed the complaint before the Provincial Prosecutors in Urdaneta City for its review and filing of the corresponding information against the suspects before the court.

Recommended to be charged are Senior Inspector Ludovico Ellazar, chief of police of Laoac, P03 Billy Collado, P02 Joma Camat and P03 Erwin Lopez, all of the Laoac police; and Lebueg Barangay Chairman Edgar Ellazar, brother of the chief of police; and Councilman Rogelio Lopez, brother of PO3 Lopez.

The police suspected the shooting of the father and son as a rubout as noting the gunshot wounds in the back if the victims.

The crime was reportedly motivated by a long-standing family and political feud between the victims and the suspects.
