A CASH-FOR-WORK program is underway for affected fishermen and their families in the fishkill-devastated towns of Anda and Bolinao in western Pangasinan.

The 10-day program under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is intended to assist some 2,860 households from the two towns.

The recipients were identified using the DSWD’s National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) project.

Each beneficiary will receive P280 per day for 10 days of community work or service such as sanitary disposal, burying of fish affected by the fishkill, coastal clean-up, and repair of fish cages and related structures.

The DSWD released about P8 million for the program.–LM
