Sual beauty crowned Limgas na Pangasinan 2011
LINGAYEN–Christy Regaspi, Sual town’s candidate, bested 18 other maidens to wrest this year’s Limgas na Pangasinan crown during ceremonies held April 30 at the Capitol Plaza here.
The 21-year old beauty who holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of the East, said her victory came as a surprise but promised to do everything that comes with her role as Pangasinan’s ambassador of goodwill in various social events of the provincial government.
Regaspi, adjudged earlier as the “Darling of the Press”, said she will promote the province’s environmental protection program and tourism destinations.
Governor Amado Espino, Jr. congratulated Regaspi and the other winners and urged them to become active partners of the government in its development programs especially in the areas of tourism and nature conservation.
Other winners for this year’s Limgas na Pangasinan competition are Rosvielentine Rosales (Urdaneta City), 1st runner-up and adjudged Miss Photogenic; and Leona Paula Santi Cruz (Sta. Barbara), 2nd runner- up and won the ‘best in swimsuit’ award.
The new Limgas titleholder thanked her supporters, especially her family and townmates who accompanied her during the pageant night saying, “I’m thankful to God and to all the people who believe in me.”
Regaspi is also setting her sights towards representing Pangasinan in other beauty tilts in the near future.
Special awards were won by Maui V. Palisoc (Urbiztondo), ‘Best in Festival Costume’; Eorlene D. Pedeglorio (Villasis), ‘Best in Talent’; Maria Marjorie S. Antigua (San Carlos City), ‘Artist of the Night’; Lence B. Fantastico (Infanta), ‘Smart Texters Choice’; and Dianarra C. Cardozo (Anda), ‘Best in Evening Gown’.
Aside from trophies and bouquets the three top winners of the beauty tilt went home with cash prizes. (PIO)
