LINGAYEN–At least 1,900 policemen men were deployed in Pangasinan during the observance of Holy Week when vacationers flock to the provinces.

Superintendent Geraldo Roxas, spokesman of the Pangasinan police, said the provincial command was also on red alert to maintain peace and order and ensure public safety.

The Highway Patrol Group and volunteer organizations set up motorist assistance centers while ambulances and wreckers were on stand-by for any emergency situation.

Police Provincial Director Rosueto Ricaforte also mobilized members of the Barangay Peace Action-keeping Teams (PBATs) to keep watch on villages.

The police also issued reminders to house owners going on vacation this Holy Week to ask their neighbors to keep watch on the empty houses and unplug all electrical connections.
