Espino mulls scholarship for Sally’s children
LINGAYEN–The provincial government has expressed willingness to extend support to the children of Sally Ordinario Villanueva, one of three Filipinos who were executed in China last March 30.
Provincial Administrator Rafael Baraan, in a press conference during the visit of Guillermo Ordinario, Sally’s father, to the Capitol on April 4, announced that Governor Amado Espino, Jr. intends to provide long-term educational assistance and not just a “one-check-deal”.
“The Governor is looking at the possibility of providing scholarship to the two children until college since this is one of the last wishes of Sally Ordinario,” Baraan said.
Earlier, the governor wrote a letter of appeal to the Chinese government requesting for the postponement of the execution of Ordinario whose father hails from Balungao while her mother is a native of Umingan.
Ordinario’s remains arrived in Manila last April 7. (PIO/Ruby R. Bernardino)
