4th District folk sees future in Project LOVE

SAN FABIAN–Manay Gina De Venecia continues to promote her slogan and the core of her program better known under the acronym LOVE (livelihood, over-all health care, values formation at education and environment).

On livelihood, Manay Gina declared agriculture as number one priority because farming is the number one source of livelihood in the district.

The congresswoman already delivered 7,259 bags of certified palay seeds in four towns for the past two years.

She also distributed motorized irrigation pumps, 13,291 sacks of fertilizer and 2,087 pieces of hand-held pesticide sprayers for farmers in San Jacinto, San Fabian and Manaoag, while allocating P560,000 for the cattle-raising project of farmers in Mangaldan.

At the same time, De Venecia’s team already completed an ocular inspection of the proposed malunggay plantation site in San Fabian, in addition to a similar plantation site in San Jacinto.

This is in preparation for the establishment of a modern malunggay processing plants in San Fabian and San Jacinto that will manufacture health capsules and tablets and other health food packs made from malunggay for export.

De Venecia considers malunggay as miracle plant due to the many health benefits that a person can derive from it.

She authored a bill in the House of Representatives making malunggay as the national vegetable.

HEALTH

In health care, she continuously conducts free dental at medical mission in Dagupan, San Fabian and Mangaldan. Five mini-hospital vans are bringing medical and dental services in 140 barangays of the fourth district.

In line with this, she was assured the approval by Congress of her pet bill seeking to double the capacity of the Region 1 Medical Center from 300 to 600 bed capacity. .

On Values Formation, De Veneia filed House Bill 3840 seeking to build a center or “bahay-kanlungan” that would make poor children with physical disabilities including those suffering from autism and Down Syndrome, more productive.

She said she is also pushing for the establishment of a center that could provide homes to abandoned babies or those who cannot be given good food, nutrition and education by their poor parents.

On environment, she had just distributed 107,000 tree seedlings of Caballero, Fire Tree, Golden Shower and Tecoma for the reforestation project of her district.

On Education, the De Venecia Scholarship Foundation continues to provide scholarship, which the De Venecia couple Joe and Gina started back in the 70s.
