THIRTY-eight farmers from Barangay Mangin in Dagupan have completed the Agri-Pinoy Rice Training Program of the Department of Agriculture while another five finished the 5 HA Cluster Technology Demonstration on Hybrid Rice in Irrigated Areas under the City Agriculture Office (CAO).

The farmers started seed sowing last November 28, 2010 after going through a season-long training on rice production and palay check system from July 5 to November 26, 2010.

Mayor Benjamin Lim reported that out of the 190 hectares of rice land in the city, 60.33 hectares are now fully irrigated.

The CAO said improved yields are now being experienced by rice farmers. (CIO)
