ALAMINOS CITY–The local police and other law enforcement recovered a recently stolen vehicle owned by a businessman from San Juan in Metro Manila.

A Honda CRV 2000 model with plate number ZLU289, owned by businessman Brigido Oglingkuan y Tiu of North Greenfields San Juan City, was reported missing last February 9 and a “flash alarm” was transmitted to all police units in Manila and nearby provinces.

Supt. Rolie Saltat, Alaminos chief of police, said tracker teams of the Alaminos and San Juan Police Stations, Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) and Alaminos Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) located the missing car parked in front of the CSI Warehouse in barangay Poblacion here.

The Tiu family driver, identified as Romar Abando Solis, 25, of Sampaloc, Manila, later confessed during police interrogation that he and four other accomplices carjacked the vehicle.

Saltat said the modus operandi of the Solis group was to steal a vehicle then park it in an inconspicuous area while they are preparing its fake papers for trade.

Solis, according to Saltat, said they chose to leave the car at the CSI parking lot because it would look inconspicuous being in a public area and security guards would not be suspicious.

Solis and his group are now detained at the San Juan police and facing theft charges.

Alaminos Mayor Hernani Braganza lauded the different law enforcement agencies for a “job well done”.
