Discussion on copyright set Jan. 28

HUNTAHAN ed Pangasinan, an informal discussion on writing, publishing, intellectual property and copyright, will be held at the Malong Building, Pangasinan Provincial Capitol Complex in Lingayen on January 28, 9:00 a.m.

The activity, organized by the Filipinas Copyright Licensing Society, Inc (FILCOLS) in cooperation with the Ulupan na Pansiansiay Salitan Pangasinan (UPSP) and the provincial government, is intended to help writers and private organizations address challenges in the publishing industry and to promote writers’ rights in the country.

Among the invited speakers are Prof. Erwin Fernandez, UPSP president; Atty. Louie Calvario, head of Copyright Support Services; Alvin Buenaventura, FILCOLS executive director; and Abdon Balde, Jr. board member of FILCOLS and chairperson of the Unyon ng mga Manunulat sa Pilipinas.

The event is open and free to the public. Among the expected participants will be the province’s writers, artists, and publishers.

FILCOLS receives support from the Norwegian Copyright Development Association, an international copyright development group, and KOPINOR, the reproduction rights (RRO) group of Norway.
