Team Alaminos wins 3 golds in Milo Nat’l Finals

LITTLE was known how Team Alaminos One fared in the last Milo National Little Olympics held in Cagayan de Oro City but the fact is it fared impressively well.

The team harvested home 3 hold, 12 silver and 15 bronze medals, a feat that was unheralded in Cagayan de Oro City.

Led by Mark Rabadon, gold medalist in the 110-meter hurdle, the team surpassed last year’s medal haul by a gold medal.

A senior student of the Alaminos City National High School (ACNHS). Rabadon also helped his team win a bronze medal in 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay. His schoolmate, Danilo Abarra, added a silver medal in Javelin throw.

Other sensational performances were delivered by elementary athletes Joana Mayola and Marjun Cadiog.

Mayola, the pride of Telbang Elementary School ruled the 1500m run while Cadiog of Alos Elementary School who topped the high jump competition.

Other than Melanie Hope Douglas, silver medalist in Taekwondo secondary division, Team Alaminos’ Elementary division was accounted for 11 silvers.

Mayola added 3 more silvers in 400m hurdle, 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay and a bronze medal in 800m run.

Her teammates in the relay events are Novelyn Casipit, Sany Jane Ragudos, Rany Fernandez and Chester Cardenas.

Casipit collected two more bronze medals in 100m dash and 200m dash while Ragudos captured the silver in 800m run and a bronze medal in 1,500m run.

Adding thee more bronze medals were Castillo (400m dash) and Cardenas (110m hurdle and 400m hurdle).

In lawn tennis, the team of Kathleen Mae Bautista, Harem Bugarin, Trisha Mae de Lion, and Maria Urduja Eminga of Colegio San Jose de Alaminos settled for bronze.

Members of Team Alaminos are expected to pay Mayor Hernani A. Braganza, their benefactor, a visit to personally thank the later for all his all-out support and assistance to the team all these years. (CIO)
