BJMP set for Correctional Consciousness Week

THE Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Dagupan has prepared various activities for the observance of the National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW) from October 22-28.

City Jail Warden Jun Melchor Boadilla said the NACOCOW celebration will be participated in by the male and female dorms and personnel of the Dagupan City Jail (DCJ).

Activities include a sports competition with Dagupan City Jail personnel going against teams of inmates in basketball, volleyball, badminton and billiard; discussion on discipline and good manners and right conduct; tree planting; and legal counseling.

The College of Nursing of the Colegio de Dagupan will sponsor a Health and Sanitation program while the Philippine Medical Society and Philippine Dental Association and the Mustard Seeds Korean religious group will conduct separate medical and dental missions.

Relatives and other visitors of the inmates will also have a chance to participate through the “Katutubong Kasuotan” (National Costume) Presentation and a “Family Day” has been set for the last day of the festivities.

The Dagupan City Jail houses 416 male prisoners and 61 female.–(PIA-Pangasinan/VHS)
