San Carlos upgrades its abattoir facility
SAN CARLOS CITY—The city’s abattoir is set for upgrading following the purchase of a cold delivery van for the facility.
This, according Mayor Julier C. Resuello, is one of the ongoing projects of the city when he addressed the City Development Council (CDC) General Assembly Meeting last October 12 to present the accomplishments and ongoing projects for 2012 and proposed plans for 2013.
The planned improvement coupled with the maintenance and administrative expenses for the San Carlos City Housing Project at BLISS Pagal, he said, would require P74 million fund.
The abattoir is used for hogs and cattle, the latter being one of the major backyard industries in the city.
The accomplished projects so far this year, which cost almost P63 million, include the concreting and asphalting of various road lines, construction of school buildings and a footbridge, drainage system, a gym, multi-purpose halls, a rural health unit, a masonry line canal, renovation of various government offices and the Binalatongan Community College. Other projects for implementation this year are asphalt overlay and concreting of more roads and pavements, construction of multi-purpose hall, a day care center, a stage, and solar dryer, procurement of pumps, and financial assistance will be given to the San Carlos Water District for the water distribution system.
San Carlos expects an internal revenue fund of P363 million this year.
The city government also received last year a Seal of Good Housekeeping from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), which provides a P25-million Local Government Support Fund for priority projects and a P3 million incentive for good performance in local governance.
The DILG has also extended this year a financial subsidy for disaster management and rescue equipment worth P4 million.
