FORMER Dagupan Mayor Alipio Fernandez Jr. may have stepped out of the political limelight, but he continues to be a galvanizing force in the city’s political arena.

Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, the mayoralty bet of the Liberal Party together with former Councilor Michael Fernandez as vice mayor, credits the party’s unity to the elder Fernandez saying “he was very instrumental in forming a powerhouse team that will lead Dagupan for greater service for Dagupeños in 2013”.

“We look up to Kuya Al with highest regards and we learn so much from him in his style of leadership and his ability to unite us together, bringing together respectable people in our group,” the vice mayor said.

She added that she is also overwhelmed by the all-out support of various political clans and personalities to their group, including the De Venecias, the Duques, the Samsons, the Reynas’, Fernandezes, Castillos and the Manaoises.

“We feel confident that we are on the right track,” she said.—Eva Visperas
