LINGAYEN–Gov. Amado Espino Jr. attended the 7th General Assembly of the World Technopolis Association last September 2-4 at Hsinchu City in Taiwan where representatives from around the world discussed the development of sustainable cities amidst climate change.

The event was attended by leaders of local governments, international organizations, universities, and operators of technology parks and technology-based industries.

Espino, together with other provincial officials, attended the assembly upon invitation of the Taiwanese officials who visited the province last July to explore possible business ventures and tourism opportunities.

During the visit, Espino asked the Taiwanese officials to facilitate the transfer of technology in agriculture to Pangasinan as the Taiwanese delegation expressed interest in putting up a mango processing plant and storage facility aside from setting up factories that will manufacture modern equipment and machinery.

Aside from attending the forum in Taiwan, the Pangasinan delegation also visited several agricultural and aquaculture sites.
