NPC candidates take oath
LINGAYEN—“A merger of Titans and common interests.”
This was how Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) Provincial Chairman Mark Cojuangco described their political party after signing-up majority of the incumbent local government officials in the province.
Speaking during the oath-taking ceremonies of NPC candidates in the second district at the Sison Auditorium here last Friday, Cojuangco said, “Lahat ng partido nakita ang mabuting gawain ng nakaraang limang ni Gov. (Amado) Espino (Jr.) at ginusto ng lahat na ipagpatuloy ang naumpisahang pagbabago.”
Espino, for his part, expressed confidence that his bid for a third and last term of office is stronger this time than in 2007 because his party is supported by a vast majority of Pangasinan officials.
“We are stronger this time than during last 2007 election because the NPC is fully supported by over 90% of Pangasinan’s incumbent officials,” Espino said, adding that he, in turn, will extend his full support to all NPC candidates.
The NPC earlier conducted a “grand slate proclamation” and oath taking of local leaders in the first district at the Celeste compound in Alaminos City.
Cojuangco said the NPC has traditionally been strong in the fifth and sixth districts but this time, the governor’s group in the eastern and central parts has joined the party.
The NPC members who will vie for the mayoralty and vice mayoralty seats in western Pangasinan are: Jose Paeta and Wilson Rosete (Agno); Aldrin Caido Cerdan and Cecil Cacho Celeste (Anda); Arthur Celeste and Danilo Dizon (Alaminos City); Cothera Gwen Yamamoto and Atty. Filipina Rivera (Bani); Arnold Celeste and Dr. Alfonso Celeste (Bolinao); Dr. Alberto Guiang, Jr. and Engr. Felipe Peralta (Burgos); Noel Nacar and Manuel Rivera (Dasol); Dr. Virgilio Vallarta and Ruperto Martinez (Infanta); Carlitos Reyes and Alimar Briana (Mabini); Roberto Arcinue and Dionisio Caburao Jr. (Sual).
For the second district, the newly-sworn mayoralty candidates are: Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Von Mark Mendoza (Lingayen), Mayor Lorenzo Cerezo (Binmaley) Mayor Ricardo Camacho (Labrador), Mayor Eddie Ballesteros (Aguilar), Jumel Anthony I. Espino (Bugallon), Jocelyn Ong Perez (Basista), Manolo Palisoc (Urbiztondo) and Almeda Banaga (Mangatarem) for mayoralty position while Vice mayoralty candidates are: Randall Bernal (Lingayen), Elmer Doria (Bugallon), Jose Carrerra (Binmaley), Rafael Sison (Urbiztondo), Ramil Ventenilla (Mangatarem), Ernesto Acain (Labrador), and Jolly Roque Resuello (Basista).
