Elementary and high schools cagefest kicks off
THE 18th season of the Developmental Basketball Championships, participated in by public and private elementary and secondary schools in Dagupan, opened October 5 at the People’s Astrodome.
Dr. Edilberto Abalos, education program supervisor of the city schools division, said the project aims to select the best players who will compose the team that will represent Dagupan City in the Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) meet and other higher level basketball competitions.
The Developmental Basketball Championships is a joint project of the city government and the Department of Education (DepEd) in cooperation with the Developmental Basketball League and the DepEd Basketball Referees Association (DEBRA).
Participating public schools teams include the West Central Elementary School I, Leon Francisco Maramba Elementary School, East Central Integrated School, Federico N. Ceralde Integrated School, Lucao Elementary School, Pantal Elementary School, Salisay Elementary School, Mangin Elementary School, Carael Elementary School, Mamalingling Elementary School, Dagupan City National High School, Bonuan Boquig National High School, Judge Jose De Venecia, Sr. Memorial National High School and Pugaro Integrated School.
Participating private schools are College of St. Michael the Archangel, St. Albert the Great School, Dominican School, St. John’s Cathedral School, Lyceum Northwestern University (LNU)-Creative Montessori Center, La Marea Academy, Wonderland School, Pangasinan Universal Institute, Edna’s School, Divine Word Academy of Dagupan, Genesis School of Happy Kids, University of Luzon, Mother Goose Special School Systems, Inc., LNU-Francisco Q.
