Scholarship launched for young artists
THE Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) has launched its 2011 Nationwide Search for Young Art Scholars, an opportunity for Filipino students to undergo special training in the arts.
The PHSA scholarship is inclusive of tuition fee, board and lodging, transportation and use of books and facilities, individualized classes with master teachers, a modest stipend and a chance to participate in local and international arts activities.
Eligible candidates must be a Filipino with no pending application as immigrant to any foreign country; have an outstanding ability in the following discipline (Creative Writing, Visual Arts, Music, Folk Dance, Ballet and Theater); be a graduating Grade VI or Grade VII pupil at the time of application; be able to take up the scholarship in the school year for which the Scholarship is granted; be proficient in oral and written Filipino and English; be willing to stay in a boarding high school set-up, have no systemic and/or communicable diseases; not be older than 15 years upon enrolment and determined to pursue a degree in any art discipline upon the graduation in the PHSA.
